this year to save me from tears

it's x'mas time again.

and this week has been a rather challenging one. a rather close friend has had two pretty major setbacks in the span of this week. which brings up a rather interesting question of male friendship, or at least the hetero version - what does one do to comfort a male friend (when he himself is male)?

do you:
1. keep quiet and try to provide the necessary distractions
2. try to talk it out
3. give advice

i don't think there ever is a right answer especially since the male species is not one known for its propensity to talk about problems. and double especially since i was never much of a talker to begin with.

but in the end, i chose option 4 - all of the above in numerical sequence. if there are any female readers, they are in all probability cringing at my clumsy attempts right about now. but guess what? it seems that what one does doesnt really matter at all. cause at least my friend looked much better later in the day.

or maybe thats cos im just a typical insensitive guy.

anyways, merry christmas to all. pls buy me presents, i have been good this year. :)
