tokyo drift

i caught tokyo drift sometime back despite the rather unfavourable reviews from newspaper and word of mouth sources. well, i thought, what the heck, how wrong can a show with fast cars and babes go?

apparently, plenty.

first up, the drift action was pretty uninteresting. some drifts i would struggle to call proper drifts, them being a handbrake skid more than anything else. seems that hollywood might be needing some lessons from the japanese drift scene. and the superb scenes that you catch in the trailer? well, those are more or less the best drifts in the movie.

my favourite drift? Han in his rx-7 drifting around the babes in the skyline. tough drift to master despite it looking so basic and simple.

plot was erm... pretty much skimpier than the clothes on the babes in the movie. but that was pretty much to be expected.

saving grace of the show - DK's black veilforce fairlady (cos im a fairlady fanatic and thats one pretty car) and the babes. but even they just made the show watchable (and barely so).

so final verdict: watch if u like fairladies or fair ladies (sorry bad pun). heh.
